There
are numerous risks involved in bondage play. Be
aware that I am not an expert
on kink; these are merely a collection of recommendations from others
that I have come across in my travels. Some
aspects of BDSM play can be risky; those activities should only be
undertaken by appropriately experienced people.
- Single-tailed
whips, while impressive to watch, can cause serious injuries in
unpracticed hands. Ensure that you are appropriately experienced with
such equipment before letting loose on a real person. - Never hit a
person on the kidneys. - People who are mummified in cling film or cling wrap (Glad Wrap, saran wrap, etc) can dehydrate quite quickly. - If you engage in
mummification or wrapping using Glad Wrap, it is wise to have a pair of
EMT scissors handy. These are scissors with a blunt underside which can
be used to quickly cut away wrapping, clothing, etc should the need
arise, without injuring the subject. They are named because they are
used by Emergency Medical Technicians. - Never, ever leave a person alone while they're tied up or gagged. - Medical fetishes (eg: piercing) require appropriate infection-control procedures. - Violet wands (an electrical play device) are not suitable for use of people with heart conditions or pacemakes. - It may be
necessary to wash or sterilise play equipment between uses. You should
be aware of the appropriate way to do this. - Always have a safe word. |
